In der Krise lieber kommunizieren als dinieren: Ofcom Report (und anderer Lesestoff)

"Consumers prefer communications over celebrations in recession", so fasst die britische Regulierungsbehörde Ofcom wesentliche Ergebnisse ihres aktuellen Communications Market Report 2009 (pdf) zusammen (Presseaussendung; siehe auch die Übersicht über die Daten): "When asked which items consumers were likely to cut back on in the recession, 47 per cent would choose to cut back on going out for dinner ... only a fifth (19 per cent) who would cut back on mobile phone spend, 16 per cent on TV subscriptions and 10 per cent on their broadband services."

Wenig überraschend ist, dass die Ofcom-Leute wieder ganz beeindruckt davon sind, wie gut es den Menschen dank ihrer Arbeit geht ("People taking control and getting good deals in downturn"), auch wenn es für sie sonst manchmal weniger zu lachen gibt (siehe zB "Tories would cut Ofcom powers", Maggie Bown: Why I have sympathy for Cameron's view on Ofcom's policy role", "Ofcom hits back at David Cameron", "Ofcom is out of date", "Does Ofcom deserve it?", "Ofcom trims pay at top", usw).

In diesem Zusammenhang gleich noch Hinweise auf weiteren Lesestoff:
